Get ready, because in 2020, we’re having another Royal Wedding!
This time the bride is Princess Beatrice, the elder of Andrew and Fergie’s two daughters. She got engaged earlier this month to beau Edoardo Mapelli Mizzo, a multimillionaire property tycoon that she was first spotted with late last year. (They have been family friends forever, though.) Edo, as he is called, popped the question to Bea while in Italy on vacation. The couple, along with Harry and Meghan, Jack and Eugenie, and about a million other celebrities, were in the country to attend Misha Nonoo’s wedding last weekend.
Some of the couple’s engagement photos were taken by Bea’s sister Eugenie, who is her best friend. They look so in love and I cannot wait for another Royal Wedding in 2020!
Rumors started circulating about the couple right after Eugenie’s own wedding last October. In March, they officially stepped out together for the first time at a gala event at the National Portrait Gallery. Since then, it’s been full steam ahead.
Beatrice will not just get a husband but will also become a stepmother, as Edo has a two-year-old son from a previous relationship.
In an official statement, the happy couple said “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
Edo, for his part, wrote the sweetest note on Instagram to his bride-to-be: “You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever.” He signed off with a diamond ring emoji.
Congratulations to Beatrice and Edoardo – I can’t wait for more details on the wedding! With this wedding, now all of the Queen’s adult grandchildren will be married. (Edward and Sophie’s children are still under 18.) So enjoy this Royal Wedding, TDCers, because it’ll be a while before we get another one!
Quick updates on Kate and Meghan – Kate was working today in Birkenhead with William, appearing at an event naming the RSS Sir David Attenborough. She wore a Royal rewear – Alexander McQueen, of course – and looked stunning. Also, we have dates for Pakistan! October 14 to 18 we’ll have another Royal tour. I am having so much fun with this tour so I am happy another one will follow right after.
Meghan is still in Cape Town and attended a private event today. Harry is off in Botswana talking about important issues like the environment and mental health. Meghan is on break until October 1. We will pick back up with the Royal tour when she rejoins the party next Tuesday, overviewing Harry’s travels to Angola (where he is due in tomorrow) and later Malawi.
